Galaxy S6 review
After the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S4 two years back
Samsung started a new rot which now needed to be changed because most of its
competitors have introduced new and elegant designs for their flagship
smartphones. At this point it is no more
a secret that Samsung has now introduced something big in form of Galaxy S6, i
did not expect Galaxy S6 to be extraordinarily good to this extent.
There are some points in the GalaxyS6 which stops it from
reaching the point of being a perfect phone, Samsung put in great amount of
efforts in designing the Galaxy S6 smartphone which looks little similar to the
other competitors. The prices are bit high and the battery life is not
satisfactory when buying a costly phone like galaxy S6.
Design
With the manufacture of Galaxy S6 Samsung managed to
transfer their plastic body look to metal body, this year’s flagship smartphone
consist of metal body which seems to be inspired by this year’s Alpha series
which was expensive phone with less features.
The device is available in different colors but it’s a shame again for
Samsung that white color looks parallel to those old devices, colors except
white give a luxurious shine from the rear part of the phone. It is good to
hold the device with 5.1 inch screen and metal body, the phone stands in the
line of other smartphones like iPhone 6, HTC ONE M9 and others. The bottom of the phone looks somewhat
identical to the apple’s design which makes it a little risky for Samsung. The
volume buttons on the left and power button to the right are very well
positioned like all the previous devices plus the home button is fixed in
perfectly which gives user a solid feel when clicked.

Screen
When it comes to the screen we must not forget that Samsung
has always managed to give out their best in this area, and once again Samsung
has managed to use the super AMOLED display which offers much sharper and clear
display as compared to the previous gadgets by Samsung. Best feature of the
screen is dark against whites which mean the darker areas of the screen are
also shown very clearly. The display is somewhat similar to the Galaxy Note 4
but this time the PPI is 557 with resolution of 1440x2560 which is no doubt the
best display available in the market for now.
The screen used in Samsung Galaxy S6 is simply marvelous and the high
level of outdoor visibility gives a new strength to this flagship smartphone.
Extra features
Samsung has been well known for giving some extra features
in their smartphones, but from few previous devices we have noted that they
have introduced a heart rate monitoring app, finger print scanner and few more.
The heart rate monitor is just a useless application for an average user, but
still Samsung manages to improve the accuracy because in previous models it was
just useless and the results were not closer to facts and reality. Now talking
about the finger print scanner we were disappointed by the Galaxy S5 scanner
because of its requirement to slide and continues failure, we thought that
apple holds the responsibility for providing best fingerprint scanners but
Samsung just changed this though by introducing Galaxy S6 fingerprint scanner.
The scanner used in Galaxy S6 even recognizes the lightest touches and works
accurately with less chances of failure. Samsung’s smart manager enables you to
manage several things from one single place including your battery life, RAM
usage and few other things; it’s nice to have an application which keeps track
of your device all at one single place.
Performance and
Interface
In Android 5 the touch Wiz is also updated and this update
has turned out to be very impressive because it has changed whole look and feel
of the Samsung smartphone. The icons look more flattened and give a wonderful
look to the phone, Samsung managed to reduce the number of menus which was a
difficult task for them. I am personally a fan of touch Wiz UI and once again I
have fallen in love with the interface, whole notification panel and the
settings screen has been optimized giving much attractive and pleasanter look.
Messaging and call interface has also been altered by Samsung this time and it
has been made more colorful and attractive, plus addition of some quick and
clever gestures make the device stand alone in some scenarios.
Battery and Camera
The battery which powers up this beast is just 2550 mAh
which is not enough to give you the best battery backup, it is one of the
negatives about this wonderful smartphone that the battery does not last much
longer. The camera present at the rear is just a
wonderful combination of power and performance; you can easily manage to
produce outstanding results using different creative modes given in the
camera. Front camera gives a selfie mode
and wide angle selfie which allows more people to fit in! But I would recommend
you to prefer the powerful rear camera.
