Technology: the game changing story

Gone are the days when human life was a jumble of hardwork.Early humen beings had been spending their lives to be more and more comfortable with the environment.Gradually, with the passage of time, they made their lives easier with the help of technological advancements Industrial revolution of 18th century, started from england, resulted in the less engagement of human source and more and more usage of technological resources thus technology proved to be a solace for overall human existence.
At the same time, on the other hands, technology caused serious harm to the balance of nature For instance, Global warming and other environmental issues proved to be the dark side of technological advancements. Two great wars were another negative outcome of technology as John F. Kennedy commented on technology's dark perspective in his very true words:
"The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty, and all forms of human life."

Sony Crams 3,700 Blu-Rays

Even with the latest technology in use these days, magnetic tape is still a robust way to backup data. People used to listen to music on tapes as well as stored data on them. With the advancement in technology, the music shifted to CDs and later portable drives. Tape drive still count when talking about backing up data. They are considered one of the best options to backup data. Sony has done a marvelous job by pushing the things further and make tape drives far better than they initially were. Sony just introduced a tape that can hold 148GB per square inch. It means the whole cassette can store about 185TB of data, which is quite huge. Get ready to join all tape to get one giant one.
In 2010, the maximum data that can be stored on a magnetic tape was 29.5GB per square inch. Sony has announced a new technology to be used for magnetic tapes ton increase the capacity. The capacity 148GB per square inch is the new record for magnetic tape storage. On a full tape cassette, it will total to 185TB of data that is equal to 3,700 dual blue-rays disks. This is really a huge capacity for data storage on magnetic tapes.
Sony has used a vacuum forming technique to create a layer of magnetic crystals by shooting argon ions at a polymer film substrate. This technology is called sputter deposition. The crystals, which are just the average size of 7.7 nanometers, pack together more densely than anything used in the previous methods. Therefore, the result is wonderful. Data equal to three blue-rays can fit into only one square inch of this new wonder tape by Sony.
Sony has developed the technology for long-term, industrial-sized data backup. This is the field where slow write times and the time taken to scroll through yards of the tape to find a single file is not a problem at all. It is yet to be decided by Sony when they plan to launch this product in the market but it is sure to hit the market hard and quick.

Apple vs Samsung

Apple and Samsung should make it clear that smartphone industry is being categorized in what to have and what not to. Both the companies report their record earnings for the first three months of the year, mainly focusing on smartphone sales. They are offering almost similar features in their phones. Yet they both are quite separated.
Apple sells just one smartphone, the iPhone. They emphasize the design and portability of this device over sales. They invest heavily in the consumer brand. They earn good from the variety of softwares and apps. On the other hand, Samsung, which is the world’s largest tech company, follows Apple with great speed and offers multiple products with wide range. They create multiple versions of a product to meet the needs of its customers. The profit here is controlled by own manufacturing.
Their different paths are a proof that different models can prevail together. They both control about 25% of the global market share of smartphones.

At the end of 2010, Apple’s market share reached 23.5% from 16%. Samsung was holding 22.8% of the market in the same quarter, which was quite increased from previous 9.4%. At the moment, it looks like they both are pulling away. The battle to be supreme over the other has caused many clashes between the two giants. In April 2011, Samsung was sued by Apple over the design and patents for smartphones. Samsung replied in the same coin and the legal battle spread in nine countries. With the help of commercials, Samsung has taken over the market with its Galaxy smartphones that are available in different version in different countries to suit the needs of the customer.
On the other hand, the companies has learnt to work together. Apple is the largest consumer for Samsung’s component divisions, including display screens and chips. Their legal battle has not slowed down their financial performance in the market.
The phone industry is now focusing on fast moving products where even one missed cycle can result in a downward movement. This industry works in cycles where one is dominant at one time and the other at the other time.

Samsung Galaxy S5

We can define Samsung Galaxy S5 in one work, ‘Evolution’. The camera has evolved to perform better for clearer, faster pictures. Fitness tracking abilities have been increased as compared to Galaxy S4. A more powerful health App has been added to Galaxy S5 with a dedicated heart rate monitor on the rear. To increase the security of the device, a fingerprint scanner has been added. It has a larger battery, bigger screen with increased brightness, faster processor and altered design. The specs are quite fascinating: a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2800mAh battery that is removable, 16/32GB of internal memory with 128GB micro SD card capacity, 5.1 in screen. All these features have added beauty to the device.

Talking about price, if you are an experienced Galaxy phone user, you should not be shocked by the price. It is in fact a bit cheaper than previous years in some areas of the world. The prices ranges from 550-600 pounds in UK and $650 in US while AU$900 in Australia.

The design is not as good as from Apple or HTC. However, it is not too bad, as Samsung has added a number of new apps to attract the customer. The body is made of plastic and has a good look. On the other hand, HTC has maintained its metal unibody history with One M8 while Apple has maintained its sharp design in iPhone 5. The main reason for the plastic body seems to be the cost of manufacture that increases much with metal body. Samsung ties to keep things lighter. Waterproof with metal could have been a difficult situation to cope with. One thing is sure that Samsung S5 is more solid phone than Galaxy s4 and it looks more well packaged.
With the larger screen in Galaxy S5, Samsung has managed to keep things in proportion. However, the chassis is larger but not too much that it looks odd. If you are moving from iPhone to Galaxy S5, you might find it trickier to switch to bigger size. For the Galaxy users, there is a lot to like in this phone.
